You will often hear the following related to the Vancouver real estate market:
- "The market is 'hot' and prices are going up and up."
- "There is a housing bubble and there is a big correction coming."
- "Everything is selling for over listing price."
Some of these quotes may be based in fact for some properties. However, be wary of generalized statements about the Vancouver real estate market. The reality is there are many markets within the Vancouver real estate market and it is important to look at the specifics and data. For example, the detached housing market is very different than the condo market. The market in Downtown is very different than the Fraserview market. So know what market you are in and what market you are looking at.
